چکیده
We present an explicit sech-squared-soliton solution associated with the optical Pockels effect, achieved through generation of frequency combs via parametric down-conversion in microresonators quadratic nonlinearity. This soliton contrasts sech-soliton describing half-harmonic field limit large index mismatch, and cascaded-Kerr effect. predict differences spectral profiles powers solitons, report that pump power threshold former agree recent experimental observations.

Hyperentanglement in Parametric Down-Conversion
A theory of spontaneous parametric down-conversion, which gives rise to a quantum state that is simultaneously entangled in three-dimensional wavevector and polarization, allows us to understand the unusual characteristics of fourth-order quantum interference in many experiments, including ultrafast parametric down-conversion, the speci c example illustrated in this paper. The comprehensive app...

متن کاملZeno effect in parametric down-conversion.
The Zeno effect refers to the inhibition of the isolated temporal evolution of a dynamical system when the observation of such evolution is attempted [1]. This observation is usually described by frequent measurements on the system performed in order to discover whether the initial state has changed or not. In the limit of very frequent measurements, continuous observation, or arbitrary high re...
متن کاملEntanglement in cascaded-crystal parametric down-conversion.
We use spontaneous parametric down-conversion in a cascade of crystals, driven by a single monochromatic cw pump laser, to study the interference of entangled photon pairs. By changing the distance between the crystals, the observed quantum interference pattern varies continuously from that associated with a longer single crystal to that associated with independent emissions from two distinct c...
متن کاملPhotonic Crystal Waveguides for Parametric Down-conversion
Photonic crystals create dramatic new possibilities for nonlinear optics. Line defects are shown to support modes suitable for the production of pairs of photons by the material’s second order nonlinearity even if the phase-matching conditions cannot be satisfied in the bulk. These structures offer the flexibility to achieve specific dispersion characteristics and potentially very high brightne...
